Essaouira day Trip Itinerary
Essaouira is a firm day trip favorite for both tourists and native Moroccans alike, and even with just a day trip to this picturesque harbor town, it’s easy to see why.
Day Trippers can usually enjoy a fairly fast road to Essaouria from our base in Marrakech in one of our luxury-spec Toyota Landcruisers, with an average travel time of 2.5 hours each way.
On route, we will pass through huge areas of beautiful and arid landscape as well as agricultural and semi-rural landscapes; perfect for a few road-trip pictures.
On arrival your guide will acquaint you with the beautiful town of Essaouira, starting with the parts of this historic 16th century walled city that make it a World Heritage Site.
Although customizable on request, a standard guided tour or Essaouira with Morocco local inspiration will feature the important monuments, the city walls, the Old Fish Market areas as well as the ancient and picture-perfect harbor.
Lunch will be served at a carefully vetted restaurant so as to cater to most tastes, preferences and intolerances, while still remaining true to the local cuisine (which is spectacular).
When travelling with us, there is also a good chance to see traditional wood carving and silver-craft in action.
The return leg has approximately the same travel time, traffic and weather dependent – most travelers are happy to snooze their way back to Marrakech after an exciting day exploring Morocco’s most famous coastline.
